Big Brothaz: “Improving ourselves by improving our community . . . A movement in progress.” Are you a young man between the ages of 16 and 24? Do you like giving back to your community and helping those in need? Do you want to be a part of something bigger than yourself? Then Big Brothaz may be for you! Come check us out.

Career Development Unit (CDU): CDU helps with job search/job preparation including applications, resumes, job leads, and interview prep. (For Gilroy services, call Ty to make an appointment: 408.501.6861.)

California Youth Connection (CYC): CYC chapter meetings are held in San Jose at The Hub and in Gilroy at the Gilroy Family Resource Center. CYC is a youth-led organization that develops leaders who empower each other and their communities to transform the foster care system through legislative and policy change.

Financial Aid and Education: Silicon Valley Children’s Fund offers support and guidance with college applications, financial aid, and scholarships.

Food Stamps (CalFresh): Get help with applications for food stamp benefits. Also, learn about resources for food.

Health Van: The Mobile Medical Unit brings on-site medical service including check-ups, sick care, immunizations, pregnancy, and STD testing. To make an appointment, call 408.472.4676.

Housing: Have questions about THP Plus applications? Get answers. Also referrals and information on housing resources and programs.

Hub Drop-in Hours: The Hub open Monday through Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. Stop by to meet with scheduled providers, use the computers, connect with peers, and take part in activities.

Independent Living Program (ILP): Operated by Family & Children Services of Silicon Valley (FCS), ILP helps you prepare for an independent life. During drop-in hours, get connected to ILP or check in with the Case Manager of the day.

Legal Advocates for Children and Youth (LACY): LACY offers free legal advice, consultations, and resources. Have a legal questions? Call 408.280.2416.

LGBTQ Youth Services: Family & Children Services of Silicon Valley’s LGBTQ Youth Space hosts youth group and game nights in Gilroy. Additional activities are offered at the program’s drop-in youth center in downtown San Jose and in Palo Alto. Services are open to youth 13-25 years old who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or questioning. Allies also welcome. View the event calendar.

Medi-Cal: Get help with applications for Medi-Cal health benefits.

Melanin Meetup: This is a new meetup (as of November 3016) for Black Brothers and Sisters (and allies) to talk, connect, and support each other. For more information, please call Katerina Rawls, ILP Wellness, at 408.642.9799.

Movie Night: Join us for popcorn and a movie.

Planned Parenthood Mar Monte: Access reproductive health education, contraceptives, and referrals for other healthcare/ services.

HYPE Art: Do you love making art? Would you like to give art a try? All supplies are provided on group art days. Express yourself through art!

Public Health: Connect to free or low-cost health care and free car seat programs. Need to find a doctor, dentist, or optometrist in your area? Michael can refer you to places in your area.

Sister2Sister: Sister2Sister offers a safe place to be around other empowering young women, a place to express yourself, a space to get and share advice, fun activities, and encouragement, support, and motivation.

TeenForce: Looking for a job or work readiness training? TeenForce offers readiness training, skill development, and job placement services. Call 408.827.3078 or stop by drop-in hours.
